While generally considered by his peers to be a careless, vainglorious ponce, Jack Durant's success as a smuggler and pirate cannot be denied. A lazy, unaffected captain, concerned more with hedonistic pleasures and appearances than matters of practicality. For all his flaws, however, things always seem to go right for Jack, leading to some degree of frustration for those that know him well.
