Ocean City is the easternmost town in the state of Maryland. The city had a populationof 7,102 as of the 2010 US Census. Westchester County had conducted a study in 2016 to see if there would be enough population base in the area to warrant the building of a 6,200 seat arena near Ocean City. The result of the study which was released in mid-February 2017 determined that there was not enough to support an ECHL team.
