The Raine Group invested in Jagex in 2011, alongside Insight Venture Partners and Spectrum Equity Investors. In June 2016, The Raine Group sold their stake in Jagex to investors from Shandong Hongda as part of a buyout of all parties invested in Jagex. Raine is a "top player in the world of media and telecommunication deals", having invested in Vice Media, overseen Sprint Corporation's takeover by SoftBank, and sold stakes in City Football Group to investors for $3 billion.
