When first brought onto the show, Evans auditioned as the singing voice of Twilight Sparkle, singing the series' theme song. She was later cast as Rarity's singing voice due to her particular vocal range. Evans has stated in an interview that her being cast as the singing voice of Princess Luna, who Tabitha St. Germain voices as well as Rarity, was coincidental. During the casting phase for My Little Pony Equestria Girls: Rainbow Rocks, Evans auditioned for Aria Blaze and Sonata Dusk in addition to Adagio.
