If not slotted with one of the hearthstones that provides a Terrestrials anima banner, it does nothing. Once such a hearthstone is slotted and the artifact attuned, it's user loses their normal anima banner (had they one). They now have only the anima banner of the Terrestrial who's stone they have slotted. An Int+Lore check, difficulty 5+Wearers Ess, allows a viewer to identify subtle themes hidden in the new anima banner that reveal it's wearers true nature.
