On January 1, 2668, Tähti was elected Deputy Leader of the Baltusian Labour Party. She won on the sixth ballot. On February 3, 2661, Tähti was elected to the Senate at the age of 26. On January 1, 2670, Tähti won the leadership on the third ballot with 59% of the vote. Tähti had a difficult time naming her Deputy Leader. After three months of interviews and discussions, she picked Betty Knipe Blackwell. In 2672, Betty Knipe Blackwell died at the age of 59. Cynthia deLessep-Irons was elected as her replacement. In 2676, she was defeated in a leadership vote by Zev Krisiloff.
