Bayley Tower was a 57 metre tall tower block at the junction of Bromford Drive and Chipperfield Road on the Bromford Bridge estate in Birmingham, England. It was completed in 1967 and had 20 floors. It had developed a notorious reputation and was a magnet for suicides. Preparation for the demolition of the tower began in early 2007 along with its sister tower, Stoneycroft Tower. The towers were stripped of all fittings and windows and stood empty until 2011, during which time there was discussion over possibly selling the towers to be renovated into private apartments, much to the disgust of evicted tenants. The council decided to continue with their original plan and demolition began in early 2011 using high reach removal machinery, with an intention to sell the land to a private develope
