Parity, parity, parity was the theme of 2003. Although the Madison Lionz "ran the table" in the regular season, going 8-0 into the playoffs, several of their games were closely contested and after losing MVP Quarterback, Troy Dougherty for the season in their seventh game, looked very beatable going into the playoffs. The Mini-Cassia Bulldawgs, the most improved team of the year, won their first divisional title ever, vindicating previous frustration by beating never-defeated before rivals, Pocatello and Boise (twice). Fifth seed, and defending champion, Idaho Falls Mustangs did what had never been done before.
