Avaranthi sh'Rothress, also known as Avaran, was an Andorian shen politician of the mid-22nd century. She was one of the first people to serve the office of Federation President after the United Federation of Planets was founded in 2161. Before being elected President, she represented her homeworld of Andoria on the Federation Council, where she engaged in a number of historically significant debates with President Haroun al-Rashid about the necessary qualifications and procedures for prospective Federation members.
