The Gotai province (Yo1) was the Yoritomo province closer to mainland Rokugan, through their northwest Shipping Lanes. To the northeast it was connected by sea with the Koutetsukan province (Yo2), to the east was the Kaze province (Yo3), to the souteast was Tokigogachu province (Yo6), and just to the south were Inazuma (Yo4) and Irie provinces (Yo5). Within the province was the capital of the Mantis Clan, Kyuden Gotei, and the Tempest Island (M9).
