The "Fable of the Crystalline Kåhlyt" was a popular parable on the planet M'haeli. The story goes that a farmer found a kåhlyt that lays rubat crystals in the form of eggs. The farmer began selling the crystals and became rich, but his wife was impatient and rather than wait every moon cycle for the crystals, she cut the kåhlyt open to get them all. What she found instead were just the intestines of the creature. The moral of the story was that one's greed and impatience could ruin a good thing.
