In the text story "The Demon Bowler!", published in Marvel Comics Annual 1990, the Demon Bowler haunted Big Al's Big Bowling Alley and challenged Janine to a bowling match. After she caught the demon cheating, he decided to play fair, which didn't turn out in his favor. He lost and reverted to a normal ghost, which the Ghostbusters then trapped. After his capture, the Ghostbusters freed his victims imprisoned in his bag.
