The Minister of Defense shall perform all necessary functions to ensure the security and defense of the Global Alliance and Treaty Organization. A total of 26 people have held the position. Of those 26, 25 have been a member of GATO while 1 has been a member of NPO. The current holder is Maxfiles, the 46th Minister of Defense of GATO. Magicninja is currently serving his 1st term as Minister of Defensive. A Minister of Defense's term lasts two calendar months at which time elections are held for the next one. Unlike the Assembly Chairman; a nation can be elected to this office indefinitely as opposed to only three consecutive terms as Assembly Chairman.
