In 1908 PD, Schoeninger held the rank of Fregattenkapitänin (equivalent to an RMN commander) and was assigned to Großadmiral Chien-lu Anderman as his staff operations officer. Fregattenkapitänin Schoeninger personally greeted Captain Honor Harrington at Alpha Station upon the Q-ship HMAMC Wayfarer's arrival in the Andermani capital system, and accompanied her to the superdreadnought IANS Derfflinger. Once aboard Derfflinger, Schoeninger confirmed to Harrington what her admiral's standing in the Imperial hierarchy was, by way of commenting on Derfflinger's Totenkopf Hussars detachment. (HH6)
