Exit 36N of the Cross Island Parkway is the right exit at the fork on the Cross Island. This, like its companion, Exit 36S is a northbound only exit. Exit 36N is for Interstate 678 North towards the Bronx-Whitestone Bridge. Before the Cross Island Parkway was aligned with the Belt Parkway, the exits were aligned with the Southern State Parkway. Due to the SSP alignment, this exit was known as Exit 1N.
