Fisher started out in junior hockey with the Regina Pats and the Regina Abbotts for three seasons from 1944-47. As the property of the New York Rangers. Fisher played for two and a half seasons for the Rangers before being traded to the Boston Bruins in the middle of the 1950-51 NHL season. By 1952-53 his NHL career was effectively over.
