Merrill Fossett was appointed Deputy Leader under Pia Turquoise Blue. Following his appointment as leader, Fossett nominated Nina deBenedet to become his Deputy Leader. Only 15 days after becoming leader, Fossett died in a plane crash over Gevaro. Fossett was piloting the plane when it crashed. Fossett and his wife died on impact.
