The Wachoskis made a rare public appearence at the 2004 San Diego Comic-Con to promote Burlyman Entertainment, having a Q&A with the attending audience after having a costumed "Burlyman" hand out promotional goods with the assistance of two "Burly Babes." Due to lack of site updates, unpublished advertised books, and irregular publishing dates, some have speculated since its creation on the current state of the publishing company.
