Dux had been active in German television since the sixties, appearing on Percy Stuart (with Claus Wilcke), and as a regular on the 1973 series Polizeistation. He also guest starred on crime series Tatort, Der Alte, Derrick, and Der Pfundskerl. Outside of crime, he recurred on the 1996 series Bruder Esel (about a Franciscan priest who leaves his vocation).
