Spiff and his gang were involved with the murder of Bobby Washington. He also attempted to murder Emmo Jones, when the latter met detective John Carey. Emmo was severely injured, but survived and provided testimony against Spiff: Spiff wanted Bobby to deliver guns to gang members, but the boy refused so Spiff killed him. Spiff was arrested, and Bob Hickman's gun was found at his apartment. Ballistics proved it was not the one used to murder the boy. What became of Spiff and his gang afterwards is unknown.
