The Taanab Militia was a small military organization that served as the primary defense force for the planet Taanab during the days of the Old Republic. The ranks were small and historically ineffective at protecting the planet from the constant raids by pirates of nearby Norulac. It served as the starting point for the career of Anwis Eddicus, who later garnered fame from his military exploits and moved into the political realm. The militia underwent restructuring following the leadership of Eddicus, as the planetary government entered a temporary agreement to subsume the small fleeting militia into the larger Judicial Forces. After three years, the experiment was deemed a failure and the militia's autonomy was restored.
