Wayne Clark is a Briton from Gosport. In 1988 he won a special Action Force competition run through the chain store W.H. Smith. Entrants had to write, draw, letter and colour a conclusion to the comic story "Battle Island" in order to win the competition. Clark's entry was chosen and the completed strip was printed in Transformers #161.
