Kiryu is the male protagonist of Pokemon Cure and Poison. He is 15 years old and lives in the region of Maolu. Maolu is a region where pokemon fusion is common and legal. Enhancing a pokemon's strength, speed, durability and resistance with another's, the problem is that it was only tested on the 1st generation. The process is done by professor Cottonwood in his lab as well as others around the region. Kiryu calls the fusions fusion'mons most of the time. Kiryu sets out on his 15th birthday to become the region champion acompanied by his sister who wants to be a pokemon pageant winner.. With a few friends, long the way they discover a group called the Black Thunder who believe that pokemon fusion is wrong, a violation on a pokemon's rights and pains them. Their goal is to free pokemon from
