The Bristol Academy of Sport is based at Filton College and runs several sports teams, allowing athletes to receive a college-level education and top-level coaching. The football wing of the academy was responsible for the Rovers youth team until 2009, when the youth system was moved back under the control of the football club, and they are also the major backers of the Rovers women's team, Bristol Academy W.F.C..
