Rusticius was a jeweller in the Roman town of Vesunna in Aquitaine. Gaius Tero, tesserarius of the town, consulted with him on a bag of aurei he found at the scene of Clodius Eprius' murder. Rusticius determined that the aurei were pure gold and not short weight.
