Flea played the role of Douglas J. Needles in Back to the Future Part II and Back to the Future Part III. As with castmates Elisabeth Shue, Michael J. Fox and Thomas F. Wilson, Balzary wore aged makeup in Part II in order to appear as a middle-aged Needles. Flea along with the Red Hot Chili Peppers voiced themselves in The Simpsons Season 4 finale "Krusty" Gets Kancelled", which included Simpsons regular Dan Castellaneta.
