The Lion King Collection is an album that was released on March 8, 1999. It consists of songs that are inspired by The Lion King and The Lion King II: Simba's Pride. Though most of the songs are in the movies, some are from The Lion King on Broadway, the Rhythm of the Pride Lands CD, as well as songs that aren't put in full in the movie, but are there in their complete versions on the CD, such as "The Lion Sleeps Tonight." This album was released again in September 2011 as part of The Lion King Deluxe Collection, along with Best of The Lion King.
