Brad Stone had been an engineer all his life. He enjoyed building and modifying things as he did well on the engines of the Discovery (NX-04) (Poseidon). Stone was very much officer material as noted by being promoted on the Discovery from Lieutenant to Lieutenant Commander. Chief Stone felt more at ease with his engineering post than being one to be on away missions. He was very professional in everything he did and took his work very seriously.
