Nova Terra is controllable in Nova Covert Ops, and can be customized in a manner similar to Kerrigan in Heart of the Swarm. A loadout system is used that allows players to select a device/weapon for each of Nova's slots. Four slots are available, namely helmet, suit, gadget, and weapon, with five options per slot. Players who pre-purchased the Covert Ops pack obtained a Nova portrait and a female skin for ghosts in multiplayer. When Nova dies in combat she gets respawned at a nearby command center similar to Kerrigan who respawns at a nearby hatchery.
