Alkam-Zar was a city on the planet of Tezwa. The city was damaged in the initial Klingon Defense Force assault when the military starport was targeted and destroyed, even though it was several dozen kilometers from the urban center. The communications relay station here was the primary backup if the planetary system failed. Several of the contraband equipment shipments sent by Koll Azernal and Nelino Quafina were located and captured by Starfleet forces here. (TNG novel: A Time to Kill)
