Darth Plagueis, also known as Darth Plagueis the Wise, was a Dark Lord of the Sith and the master of Darth Sidious. Plagueis was obsessed with finding a way to cheat death and in addition he was the only known practitioner of Midi-chlorian manipulation which he used to create Anakin Skywalker. It is unconfirmed it he created Anakin intentionally or if it was an accidental result of one of his experiments. Plagueis was eventually killed in a duel with his apprentice Darth Sidious who replaced him as Dark Lord of the Sith.
