Missile droids were flimsy battle droids used in large numbers by the Galactic Empire. They were used in 3 ABY during the Battle of Dubrillion, where they attempted to hinder Rebel Alliance pilot Wedge Antilles. They spewed a seemingly infinite number of concussion missiles. These droids flew or hovered in the air, often at the same level as the cockpit of an enemy vehicle. When Wedge Antilles was engaged by these droids on Dubrillion, he learned that they were not heavily armored, and a few blasts from an AT-ST could easily destroy them.
