The 2019 Atlantic Hurricane Season was an extremely active season, and is the second most active season on record, only behind 2005. The 2019 Atlantic Hurricane Season was also one of the few seasons that have had tropical activity before and after the official bounds of the hurricane season. The season produced a total of 24 tropical cyclones, 20 named storms, 12 hurricanes, and 4 major hurricanes. The first storm of the season, Tropical Depression One, formed on April 26, while the last storm of the season, Tropical Depression Twenty-Five, dissipated on December 14.
