Space Satellites are weapons used by Doctor Robotnik that are used from space. The tyrant once set up a trap that involved luring Sonic the Hedgehog to one side of Mobius, only to fire a space-weapon at the Emerald Hill Zone. On this occasion, Sonic managed to reflect the satellite's beam with a mirror created from sand which destroyed the weapon. Robotnik did not learn his lesson and built another one some time later. This time, Robotnik did not warn Sonic of his intentions but was stopped short of firing it by Father Christmas. While Santa kept Robotnik busy, Shortfuse the Cybernik destroyed the machine before it could be used.
