At SHINE 16 on January 24, 2014, Daffney announced that she had formed a brand-new tag team to take on The S-N-S Express (Sassy Stephie and Jessie Belle), and with that, she brought out Solo Darling, one of the members of her All-Star Squad, and Solo's new partner, Heidi Lovelace, who became the newest member of the stable in the process. Daffney referred to the newly formed team as The Buddy System, and they would go on to defeat the Express when Lovelace pinned Jessie Belle. At SHINE 17 on February 28, the System defeated Malia Hosaka and Brandi Wine in the quarterfinals of the SHINE Tag Team Championship Tournament, but were defeated by Made In Sin (Allysin Kay and Taylor Made) in the semifinals.
