Stats from lowest to highest are: green->blue->orange->gold The goal with improvement scrolls is to stat your piece of equipment until it is gold. So you'll use green scrolls until you can't anymore, then blue, etc. There is no gold scroll, when you've hit the cap for orange it just changes. Some orange scrolls have a chance of destroying your equipment so be careful.
