Marcus Farrell is the supposed father of Mahad and Lena. He owned the ship Hyperion after supposedly stealing it from the sphere before the series started. He was part of the rebel group that opposed the strict taxation of water and was seen as an important part of their leadership before he went MIA. He goes missing when Lena is a baby and is presumed dead although he is often referred to as simply"missing" by his family. He is a non-seijin.
