Paleotherians (referred to as "paleokin" in the otherkin community) are therians whose theriotype is an extinct animal, ranging from the most recent like the mammoths and machaeirodus to the most ancient like archaeopteryx, coelurus, and even ammonites. Most often paleotherians identify as dire wolves, but there has been a good number of velociraptors showing up recently. Often there are feelings of being out of place in time, or loneliness for one reason or another.
