Prospero's Island was the setting for The Tempest, a play by William Shakespeare. In the play, the magician Prospero and his daughter Miranda lived on this Mediterranean island. Their residence contained a room where he attempted Neoplatonic magical rites. This room was recreated, in 2370, in Data 73, a holoprogram created by Data. (TNG: "Emergence" )
