I personally think it is, but that's more a matter of opinion than anything else. Bleach follows fairly typical Shonen series norms (its flow is comparable to other action Shonen series such as Dragonball Z, Naruto, and One Piece) but it does begin with a slightly more mature angle than Naruto and the like. It also stylistically looks very different from the orange, red, and blue-wearing heroes of those other series.
