The Second Interregnum was a period of history from 53,000 BCE (reference stardate -550/00) to 48,000 BCE (stardate -500/00), during the Emergent Era. It began with the fall of the djKen and ended with the rise of the Querat. It was characterized by a general retrogression, primitivism and a lack of interstellar travel.
