Shiro Asano was the estate of Hiruma Asano. Following Asano's illegal seppuku Hantei XIII confiscated Shiro Asano and exiled Asano's wife. Asano was avenged by the Thirty-One Ronin, loyal retainers of his, but it is not known if the Emperor returned the castle to any of Asano's line. It was also not known if the castle was renamed following Asano's dishonor, or to whom the castle was given. It might be assumed that the next ruler was of the Hiruma family, as Shiro Asano was located on the Shadowlands side of the Kaiu Wall and few if any non-Hiruma would find it a desirable estate.
