Shikamaru has been made the new leader of the Nara Clan, much to the jealousy of Kaito. In an act of retaliation, Kaito digs up Hidan and attempts to defect from the village. Shikamaru, with the help of Naruto attempt to stop Kaito and Hidan from escaping, but Kaito and Hidan receive backup from Kuro Tanzi and Meito.
