Route 65 could be closed for weeks in Sepember, 2006, as the result of a massive landslide at the site of a new Wal-Mart store in Kilbuck Township. The landslide blocked both lanes of traffic on the busy road, and even prompted the closing of a nearby rail line. Traffic is being detoured on other area roads.
