Deputy Paul Coby appears in the episode Mr. Monk Gets Cabin Fever as a deputy working for the local police force. He first appears at the lakeside where Martin Willowby has turned up dead. Like the others, he thinks Martin's death was an accident untill Adrian Monk proves that Martin was murdered by his wife, Kathy Willowby. He then, along with Randy Disher and Leland Stottlemeyer, arrests Kathy and sends her to prison.
