Rick was in his garage. He was practicing a new song with his band, which consisted of Rick on guitar and vocals, Jake on bass, and Marie on drums. As they were playing, Mary Test showed up and Rick had the band stop. Mary wanted to give Rick a taped confession of Laura confessing that she shot Rick. Mary wanted to give Rick this evidence so that Rick could have Laura arrested and sent to jail. But Lauren, Laura's daughter, showed up and confronted Mary about what she was doing to her mother. Mary was very upset. She left Rick's garage and ran out into the street. Mary got hit by a car and became the victim of a hit-and-run accident. Mary was taken to the hospital, where she underwent emergency surgery. After the surgery, Rick and his band went to visit Mary in order to share her findings.
