Tahiri Veila was a Jedi Knight in Luke Skywalker's New Jedi Order. She was friends with Jacen and Jaina Solo and Ben Skywalker. After Jacen was presumed dead and later returned, Tahiri fell in love with one of his students, Aren Lical. Because she was raised on Tatooine among the Tusken Raiders, her lightsaber was unique, with a slightly longer handle and slightly shorter blade, like a gaffi stick.
