The 1964 Western North Carolina 500 was a Grand National (now Nextel Cup) event held at Asheville-Weaverville Speedway on August 9, 1964. Ned Jarrett set sail quickly, leading 350 of the 500 laps in route to a nine-second victory on David Pearson. Eventual season champion Richard Petty finished 25th.
