It is a common weapon among jobs, though the Knight is usually the only one that can equip every one of them, but in any case, the Paladin, the Dark Knight, and the Blue and Red Mages are some of the jobs that can also equip swords. There are also many recurring swords throughout the series, the most famous being the legendary Excalibur, the Masamune, the Ragnarok, the elemental blades Flametongue, Icebrand and Coral Sword, the Lightbringer and Deathbringer, and the Ultima Weapon. In some appearances, they are stronger and heavier than daggers, but weaker and lighter than greatswords.
