Vacuuming can be very effective for pulling mites off of hard floors and out of carpets. Use the correct head for the surface being vacuumed. Clean the vacuum after use. Dispose of the dust carefully and quickly ensuring that no mites escape. Wear earmuffs to protect your ears. A vacuum with a powered head will work far better than a normal vacuum. Dyson vacuums are very effective for this task. If you only have a small area of carpet then get a small hand held vacuum. Make sure you clean your vacuum well without damaging it.
